We are seeking highly skilled and qualified Director of Finance to join our team!

Director of Finance is responsible for maintaining all financial records for the business and establishing control accounts, posting transactions, entering data, and verifying records. Position will have additional responsibilities for managing human resource activities and complying with all federal, state and local policies and standards. Position will establish proper accounting procedures including accounts payable, receipts, payroll, and governmental reports with Treasurer and Auditor.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (MA/MBA) in Business, Management or Finance.
Accounting experience of a minimum five years.
Strong QuickBooks non-profit knowledge and experience preferred.
Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Ability to utilize accounting and office related software programs.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to multitask.
Supervisory skills and experience.
Human Resource experience preferred.

Volunteer Coordinator:

We are seeking highly skilled and qualified Volunteer Coordinator to join our team!

The goal of this position is to provide a supplemental workforce that allows the Galveston County Food Bank to fulfill its mission to lead the fight to end hunger in Galveston County. The Volunteer Coordinator will recruit individuals and groups to volunteer for various tasks to assist with our daily operations. Work schedule for this position is Tuesday – Saturday and some evenings.

Requirements:

Two- year business degree or three years non-profit and volunteer coordinator experience.
Food banking experience not required but strongly encouraged.
Experience in working with diverse individuals from various ages and backgrounds. Groups may include corporate, religious, academic, etc.
Strong interpersonal, communications (both written and oral), organizational and planning skills.
Strong relationship-building skills.
Computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets; PowerPoint presentations and written communications.
Proven ability to deliver leadership in a supportive and motivating manner.
Non-profit and volunteer management experience preferred.

Front Desk Receptionist:

The Galveston County Food Bank is seeking highly skilled and motivated front desk receptionist to join our team!

Responsibilities:

Maintain Front Desk Area and Greet Visitors

Provide General Support to Visitors

Answer and Direct Phone Calls
Process Monetary Donations
Data Entry and Intake of Client Information
Prioritize and Perform Multiple Tasks
Maintain a Positive & Professional Tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
Some Evenings and Weekends May Be Required

Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
Minimum of 40 WPM Typing Speed
Intermediate Skill Level with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Basic Computer Skills
Knowledge of Phones, Fax Machines, and Copier
Effective Communication, Interpersonal and Public Relations Skills
